Reverse the Polarity of the Neutron Flow

I want to talk about boobs for a sec.

We all know how most comic-artists draw breasts: uniform size, gravity-defying, perfect cleavage all the time, always perfectly shaped. But look! These ladies have practical boobs! Rogue’s not wearing a shirt or bra, so her boobs are a little slack and are spread apart. Emma Frost, in both pictures, is wearing clothes that distort the shape of her breasts beyond Perfect Round Melons, as is Lilandra. X-23 and Mystique barely have breasts at all! And from there, we get into Kitty Pryde’s slim figure vs. Scarlet Witch’s Christina Hendricks-esque bod. Also, this is a tiny detail not even related to her shape, but there’s a small gap between Mirage’s ankle and her shoe.

These portraits aren’t realistic (cough cough Kitty Pride’s dress) but it’s such a relief to see artists focusing on how women’s bodies actually work.

Because really, real boobs are so much sexier than bad Comic Book boobs
